Media collections build up the same way book collections do. We collect DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, vinyl records, and audiobooks for free, right alongside your books, so an afternoon of shelf-clearing covers all of it at once.

Each format still has an audience. We pass the media forward to readers, listeners, and community partners across Fresno and Clovis, giving films, albums, and recordings a second life instead of letting them gather dust.

This service is one part of our donation pickup service for the whole region, available free to donors throughout Fresno and Clovis.

Discs and records last for decades, so passing them on follows how reusing media and electronics extends their useful life exactly as the EPA describes for durable items.

Formats we accept

DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, VHS tapes, vinyl records, and audiobooks are all welcome, in any mix of genres and eras. Complete cases travel best, so keep discs with their sleeves where you can, though loose discs are still worth donating. Box sets and full albums are especially easy to pass on.

Adding media to a pickup

Box your media with the rest of your donation — there is no separate process and no extra cost. Records and large disc collections are heavier than they look, so mention a big collection when you book and we will plan for the weight.

What we can rehome, and where it goes

Anything that still plays finds a new audience; cracked or badly scratched discs and tapes that no longer play are the only exceptions. Working media is sorted alongside books and passed forward to listeners, viewers, and community partners across Fresno and Clovis, with a share resold to keep the pickups free.

Can I mix media in with my books?

Please do. Box them together and we sort the formats after pickup.

What about cases without discs?

Complete sets are best. Empty cases are hard to rehome, so keep discs with their cases where you can.
