Children's Book Donation Pickup in Fresno and Clovis

Picture books and chapter books outgrow one child and become a treasure for the next.

A box brimming with colorful children's picture books as a child reaches in

Children move through books faster than almost anything else, and a beloved picture book rarely loses its magic when it is set aside. We collect gently used children's and young-adult books for free and pass them along to the next young reader.

From board books to chapter books, the titles continue their journey to classrooms, little free libraries, and literacy programs across Fresno and Clovis, where a new child can fall in love with the same story.

This service is one part of the Fresno and Clovis book pickup team, available free to donors throughout Fresno and Clovis.

Passing an outgrown picture book to the next child is exactly how reused items find a second life with new owners the kind of reuse the EPA encourages families to choose.

Children's books we collect

Board books, picture books, early readers, chapter books, and young-adult titles all qualify, in the well-loved condition that comes with being read often. Activity and sticker books are best when clean and unused. Bilingual and second-language children's books are especially welcome — demand for them consistently outruns supply.

An easy pickup for busy families

Box the kids' books with the rest of your donation — no need to separate them — and set everything out on your scheduled day. There is no minimum, so a single bag from a closet cleanout is as welcome as a whole outgrown library. Mention a larger collection, like a full playroom or classroom, so we bring the right vehicle.

Where children's books go next

Donated children's books are routed to classrooms, little free libraries, and literacy programs across Fresno and Clovis, where access to books makes a real difference for young readers. Most are passed forward rather than sold, and the picture book your child loved may end up just a few neighborhoods away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take board books and worn picture books?

Yes. As long as a child can still enjoy them, board books and well-loved picture books are welcome.

What about young-adult novels?

Those are welcome too. We pass YA titles forward to teen readers and classroom libraries.

Should I separate the kids' books?

It helps but is not required. Boxing them together is fine and we sort everything after pickup.
